Important Dates

January 1

Appraisal date. All property in Florida is revalued each year as of January 1.

January 1 - March 1

Filing period for exemption and agricultural classification (see Agricultural Guidelines) applications. See What is Homestead Exemption and How Property Qualifies for Agricultural Classification sections of Web site. Filing deadline is March 1.
Homestead exemption applications may be pre-filed. See When and Where Do I File section of Web site.

January 1 - April 1

Filing period for Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns. See Tangible Personal Property section of Web site. Filing deadline is April 1.

July 1

Notification, by certified mail, of all exemption and agricultural classification applications denied for current year.

July 30

Deadline for filing petition contesting denial of exemption or agricultural classification. See Differing with The Property Appraiser's Just Value Appraisal section of  Web site.

Mid-August

Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (NOPPT) mailed.

25 days after NOPPT mailed

Deadline for filing petition contesting property value. See Differing With The Property Appraiser's Just Value Appraisal section of Web site
