Meet Paul Polk

Paul L. Polk, a fifth-generation Charlotte County native was born in Port Charlotte, FL. Paul attended Charlotte County public schools and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1982. He continued his education attending Edison Community College (now known as Florida Southwestern College) where he earned an Associates in Arts degree. Paul began his appraisal career in 1986 as a residential fee appraiser working for a private firm doing appraisals primarily for mortgage lending purposes. In addition to his private sector appraisal experience as a residential and commercial appraiser Paul also worked for the Sarasota County Property Appraiser's Office and the Florida Department of Revenue. Paul joined the Charlotte County Property Appraiser's office in January of 2010 serving as Director of Special Projects and later was promoted to Chief Deputy. Paul is a State-Certified General Appraiser, licensed Real Estate Salesperson and has earned the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) and the Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES) designations from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

Paul was elected to the position of Property Appraiser in November of 2012 and took office in January 2013.

Paul and his wife Vicki live in Charlotte Harbor and have one grown son Emory.
